 If you haven't noticed by now, I absolutely live for a good crewneck sweatshirt. I pretty much live in them at the studio and at home as well. I also love to design merchandise, have a passion for spreading kindness, and adore giving back to my community. One day I decided to merge those passions all together and the Kindness Collections at Signature Dance Studio were born. The Kindness Collection is apparel with a purpose and donates a portion of proceeds to local organizations. It's Signature Dance Studio's way to give back to the community. The drops are limited time only and once the items are gone, they're gone! We started the Kindness Collections back in 2022. I'll be honest I wasn't really sure how it would go. It could either be a smashing success or a major flop. As it turned out, our first drop was a SMASHING success. We released the 'Kindness Matters' collection, where our signature smiley was born, and proceeds went to the Rebecca Mercik Scholarship Fund, honoring a dancer lost too soon who had a passion for tapping. We were able to donate $1,000 to her scholarship fun in her memory. I was speechless at the outpouring of love we had. Our second Kindness Collection featured our slogan 'Kindness looks good on you.' It had a retro vibe that I absolutely love. I went crazy this time and purchased all the items upfront. To be honest, I still have a TON of merchandise from this collection left. The proceeds from this drop went to support 'The Poptart Effect' and Experience Camps, an award-winning national non-profit that transforms the lives of grieving children through summer camp programs and innovative, year-round initiatives. I'm so proud to support this organization in memory of my brother, Brian who passed away and left two beautiful young children earthside without him. We were able to donate... Are you ready? We donated $2,150 to The Poptart Effect. Incredible. My heart could burst all over again just thinking about the impact that made for a young child who's had to know the trenches of grief. Kindness Collection 3.0 just released in August of 2024 and sales close TODAY (I probably should have written this earlier). This release was so fun to make and is really special to me personally. I had the pleasure of working with the design team at Upstate Merch for this one. I had a special vision but just couldn't quite create it myself. It was so fun to work with their team to come up with the perfect design. They are also the exclusive print shop of our Kindness Collections! Kindness 3.0 boasts a bold slogan of 'My dog (or cat) is kinder than you,' with a matching pet bandana that reads 'Kinder than most people.' I personally think its clever as heck. While this is a smaller drop this time around, we're really excited to be able to donate proceeds to Country Acres Animal Shelter, our local shelter here in Homer, NY. This drop is in memory of my sweet Presley Joy, my black lab who loved us unconditionally for 9 years. The shop is open through 8/31 at midnight!
